New SLRD Wildfire Landscaping Bylaw
There is a new bylaw for all Electoral Areas of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District – the Wildfire Landscaping Management Bylaw. This bylaw supports community wildfire resiliency by addressing landscaping practices and vegetation planted in close proximity to buildings and structures. The bylaw also supports implementation of the FireSmart™BC landscaping best practices, and is more of an educational tool rather than an enforcement tool.
